New Practice starting May 20th

We will be starting a new practice on Mondays and Wednesdays at Wakefield High School from 12:00pm-1:00pm. These practices will be coached by Coach Dominic. Our first practice at Wakefield High School will start Monday May 20th.

Wakefield High School is located at 4901 S Chesterfield Rd, Arlington, VA 22206

Summer swimming schedule

1. UDC – no changes all summer; 6 – 7 am (5 lanes 25Y) on Tues/Thus; 715 – 830 pm (4 lanes) on Mon.

2. Wilson Pool – no changes all summer; 12 – 1 pm (2 lanes 50M) on Mon/Wed.

3. Lab School – no changes all summer; 8 – 9 pm (6 lanes 25 Y) on Tues/Thurs.

4. GW Mount Vernon Park (MVP) – 530 – 7 am (6 lanes 25M outdoors) on Mon/Wed/Fri; 8-930 am Sundays (6 lanes) and practices begin Mon May 20.

5. GW Smith Center 715 – 830 pm (8 lanes 25Y) on Tues/Thurs and practices begin Tues June 3.

Note also that we also have ongoing workouts at Georgetown Prep on Mon, Tues and Thurs from 8 – 930 pm through Thursday, June 13 when the spring season ends there. We have five lanes and plenty of space at these workouts.

We also have two outdoor 50M workout options in the Virginia suburbs. Old Keene Mill in Burke is 8 lanes, and workouts are Tues, Thurs, and Fri from 6 – 730 am and Sun mornings from 9-1030 am. Westwood Country Clubs is in Vienna and is 6 lanes on Mon, Wed, Fri from 530 – 7 am. Both of these locations will have workouts from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

We are also starting our open water practices in Gunston Manor sooner this year, and we have two planned weekend swims in May. Be looking for an email from Coach Dominic Latella.

UDC is closed tomorrow

UDC is closed tomorrow for Emancipation Day, which also means the pool is closed and there will be no practice.

Snowquester Closure Update

Fairfax County Rec Centers are closing this afternoon and will not reopen until 10am on Thursday, March 7th. So as of now, Providence, Spring Hill, and Audrey Moore are canceled. Thursday evening swims are not affected.

Oak Marr Resumes Monday the 4th

Start and Turn Clinics (Zones Preparation)

For the past month or so, we have been asking you to swim at Zones. We know it can be a little scary to think about swimming at a meet and we know that you want to do your best. For any that are interested, we will be hosting Start and Turn clinics at American University on March 23^th and April 13^th.

The clinic is open to any swimmer who can comfortably complete 25 yards of freestyle, backstroke, or breaststroke.

Space is limited! Registration will run until the program is full or until March 22^nd, whichever comes first.

The price is $30.00 cash, and the clinics run from 5:00pm – 6:30pm.

Oak Marr Closure

Although progress is being made toward repair of the leak at Oak Marr, the pool will not be available for us until at least Tuesday, February 26.

Closures the week of February 18th

Oak Marr RECenter will be closed Tuesday, February 19 through Sunday, February 24 to repair a leak in the pool. The pool is scheduled to reopen Monday. This information is subject to change and we will provide as much timely notice as possible should we incur further problems.

UDC pool is closed for the President’s Day holiday tomorrow (Monday February 18) and we will NOT have practice,

As a heads-up, here are the other scheduled UDC closures this year. We will send out reminders and I will also ask our webmasters to post these dates on our website:
